We were SO wrong!! Check-in was a massive line from the front of the building to the Magi-Quest store ( at least 40 + people ahead of us). We had high hopes for the same great experience for this trip at the Manteca location. Kids want to go back.Where do I even begin? This was our second trip to a Great Wolf Lodge with the first being at Grand Mound. ![]() Restaurants and attractions were closed when hours listed should be open and wait times for check-in, food, and drinks were very frustrating. Final Comments: For the money you spend, the experience should be SO MUCH better. And stepping on wet trash in bare feet is nasty. Guests leave trash around, making it look messy. No nearby restaurants to save you from lines or expense. You go there knowing it's expensive, but the bill will still surprise you. They were out of stock of a lot of things. Cons: Your room will not be ready when they say it is. The facility was well-maintained, but they could use more trash cans. Plenty of activities to keep you busy for a couple days. Wait in line for an hour just to get on the 2-hour list for ropes or bowling, etc. Still, expect to wait in line for 30-45 min at the water park bar most times of day. We also got in line at 4:45 for 5pm restaurant opening and had a fast and enjoyable experience the second day. Second day was better because we had a room to retreat to a couple times during the day for breaks from the madness. By 9:45, my youngest sat waiting for his food in a miserable daze, with blaring "dance party" music in the background (the kitchen was overwhelmed and slow). ![]() So we go to the sit-down place and there's a 90-minute wait. Two "quick service" restaurants that were supposed to be open until 10 were already closed at 8. We arrived after 1, waited in line for an hour to get our park passes - but our room wasn't ready until 7 pm. They advertise water park access at 1 pm and room check-in at 4 pm. We had a $99/night deal so the value for this trip is off the charts. I definitely would come back if the price was right. Overall, we are having a blast and my son is having the time of his life. Pool area could be cleaner but.I think everyone was doing the best to keep it as clean as possible. Our room was super clean and the facilities in general were in great shape. So.I would recommend tracking someone down to see if they can check on your room. Around 12, I was by the lobby and there was no line so I decided to check on the was ready and I got no text. They sent a test to make sure the message system worked and I went on my way. My only semi-complaint.When I checked in, I was told I would get a text when the room was ready. The check in did get EXTREMELY long between 1-5 but died down by 6. Staff has been friendly, plentiful and helpful. We never waited more than 5 minutes for any big slide and little kids could go down their slides over and over with no wait. Some slides and lazy river did close periodically but we never felt without. The outside pool is still closed but the fire pits are accessible. We had no issues finding 3 loungers and everything was open. We had immediate access to water parks which was awesome. Checked in at 10:45am and walked right up with no line. ![]() We checked in today (Thursday) and have had the best experience. Pool area could be cleaner but.I think everyone was doing the best to keep it. ![]()
